18U Gold Coaching Staff

Head Coach Andy Waskie

Coach Andy has been with the Langhorne Lightning Softball Organization for over 10 years, starting with the In-House program at 6U. Volunteering as an assistant, Andy was immediately “promoted” to Head Coach by former Softball Director Bill Davis and thus the journey began. Andy has coached at every level of the sport from 6U up through 18U Gold. As a Coach, his Langhorne Lightning's teams have won the NSA Nationals Tournament in Owensboro, KY, the USSSA Southeast Nationals in Nashville, TN, and have finished in the top 10 in every 'Nationals' events they have played in since 2021. His teams have competed in high level softball tournaments in the tri-state area and beyond, showcasing their talents in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Tennessee, Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, and Colorado.

Andy was unanimously voted Travel Director of Softball by the Langhorne Athletic Association Board of Directors and has overseen growth from a single travel team in 2018 to 7 as of 2023. “We are extremely proud of our players who took a chance on our program, believed in our core values of Teamwork, Heart and Family, and are providing a foundation for our program for the future.”

Asst Head Coach Scott Molle

Coach Scott joined the Langhorne Lightning as a volunteer in 2021 as a Coach with our 16U team. Coach Andy quickly realized that we needed him with the 18U level and he’s now in his 3rd year with the team. Scott has coached High School softball for several years as an assistant on the Bensalem Owls staff, and is currently the head Coach for the Council Rock South Hawks. His first year at CRS, the Hawks made it to the state finals and Coach Scott was named Philly Burbs Coach of the year! Coach Scott is our Bench/1B Coach and aids in gameday preparation and recruitment.

Asst Coach Shannon Molle

Coach Shannon is in her third season with the Langhorne Lightning 18U Gold. She is a former player at Neshaminy High School and is our gameday Statistician and Analyst. She also is our team’s Financial Director.

Asst Coach Tom Gearhart

Dubbed the teams "Dugout Dad", Coach Tom is an integral part of the coaching staff. He began coaching at Langhorne Lightning when his daughters were players over 6 years ago and he hasn't been able to leave since. Coach Tom is in charge of hype music, assists players in the recruitment process, and provides support to the coaches in game day preparation and planning, running practices, and player relations.

Student Coach Lindsey Gorka

Coach Lindsey is a former Langhorne Lightning player, presently rostered with Holy Family University Softball program. Coach Lindsey played for the Neshaminy Skins softball until her graduation in 2023. Lindsey is an integral component of our Coaching Staff as a player who’s near the same age as most of our current Roster and who provides valuable insight into college that is easily relatable. Lindsey is valued by the players for her sense of humor, unwavering support, and keen softball acumen.

Student Coach Taylor Gearhart

While currently attending Kutztown University and playing for their Golden Bears, Coach Taylor makes every effort to attend Lightning events as much as possible. Taylor was with Langhorne Lightning since she played at the 12U level and grew with the program until her graduation from Council Rock North as a player on the 18U Gold team. She was an integral part of winning numerous tournaments that included a 14U and an 18U National championship.

Student Coach Alleigh Waskie

Coach Alleigh has played softball since a young child and always knew she wanted to play at the collegiate level. She realized that dream in 2023 when she announced her commitment to play for the Thomas Jefferson University Rams. In her first year at Jefferson, Alleigh still displays a strong commitment to her Lightning family, sharing her catching skill and knowledge, her passion for the game, and her love for the softball community. Alleigh mentors young players at all ages within our softball organization and is a true ambassador for the sport.
